When I was little, the only type of beauty I saw was mostly white women with tiny noses, perfect skin, and straight hair. My curly hair and Afro textures weren’t seen as cool or welcome in places they should have been, like school 🫠 they were often labeled as ‘chaotic.’ I remember being told I had to have my hair done for school. That’s why creating art for everyone is so important to me, especially for the girls coming after us, and for the girls we once were, who still carry the wounds of racism and capitalism in their hearts.

Honestly, these things make my heart so happy. Art, for me, is about following your heart and giving your mind new impulses🫠 otherwise, life gets too comfortable and a bit boring.

That day I didn’t finish my piece, but I didn’t want to leave it unfinished - I think it’s really cute, I loved the design, and I want to fall in love with art as a hobby again. 💛 You can get this piece this Friday at the Markt am Yppenplatz – @viennanightmarket and starting next Sunday morning on my website.

And it hit me: the fashion industry often underpays and objectifies the people behind production. So when something looks “too expensive,” maybe it’s actually just fairly priced for the amount of work and sweat it takes.

Huge thanks again to @cinico_canino for giving me so much of his time, for all the patience, and for helping me out whenever I was too tired😅And to dear @lichtraum_by_sonia_siblik for creating a safe place where artists can create, grow… and simply be.

My art, my colors, my energy, my shapes: they all carry the rhythm of a creative, powerful, and vibrant land.
Today I celebrate Colombia’s Independence Day by carrying my country with me - in every brushstroke, in every work, in every step.

Es parte de mi propio aprendizaje: sacar mi concepto de belleza de los límites estrechos que aprendí del patriarcado y el capitalismo.

Este proceso empezó cuando acepté crear una obra de arte para un Colectivo feminista. En ese momento entendí que esta mujer es hermosa simplemente por SER 💜 Por lo que brilla dentro de ella y que eso lo se refleja por fuera 🌟

Ella me recuerda que mi belleza no nace del concepto que otros tienen de mí, sino de mi autopercepción.
Con esta obra - y con todas las que vendrán - me libero y te libero del peso de cumplir con estándares irreales, crueles y costosos.

“LIBRE” is the beginning of a feminist art series celebrating non-hegemonic beauty, inner strength, and the freedom to define ourselves beyond patriarchal and capitalist standards.

This artwork was born from a personal journey - a moment of transformation that began when I accepted a commission for a feminist collective. It led me to question everything I had been taught about beauty.

The woman in this illustration is beautiful simply because she is. Because of what shines within her, and what radiates outward. She reminds us that true beauty is not defined by others, but by how we see and feel ourselves.

With this piece - and all that will follow- I free myself, and I free you, from the pressure to fit into unrealistic, cruel, and costly beauty standards.

Este proceso empezó cuando acepté crear una obra de arte para un Colectivo feminista. En ese momento entendí que esta mujer es hermosa simplemente por SER 💜 Por lo que brilla dentro de ella y que eso lo se refleja por fuera 🌟

Ella me recuerda que mi belleza no nace del concepto que otros tienen de mí, sino de mi autopercepción.
Con esta obra - y con todas las que vendrán - me libero y te libero del peso de cumplir con estándares irreales, crueles y costosos.

“LIBRE” is the beginning of a feminist art series celebrating non-hegemonic beauty, inner strength, and the freedom to define ourselves beyond patriarchal and capitalist standards.

This artwork was born from a personal journey - a moment of transformation that began when I accepted a commission for a feminist collective. It led me to question everything I had been taught about beauty.

The woman in this illustration is beautiful simply because she is. Because of what shines within her, and what radiates outward. She reminds us that true beauty is not defined by others, but by how we see and feel ourselves.

With this piece - and all that will follow- I free myself, and I free you, from the pressure to fit into unrealistic, cruel, and costly beauty standards.

I’ve been wanting to turn my illustrations into little animations for so long… and I finally gave it a go! 🎥✨

To be honest, I’m still a bit hesitant about feeding AI with my own work 🤖🎨 but let’s be real: AI is already part of our everyday lives.
At the same time, my intuition told me that something really cool could come out of this experiment… and voilà 💫

So wie jedes Leben, begann auch mein kreatives Leben mit meiner Mama.
Viele meiner Projekte wurden geboren im Haus meiner Mama und meiner Oma.
Mit ihrer Unterstützung. Ihrer Energie. Ihrer Liebe. ✨

Ich erinnere mich, wie ich in der Pandemie wieder bei ihnen eingezogen bin, ohne zu wissen, wo ich anfangen sollte.
Und sie sagten nur: Mach dein Ding, wir kümmern uns um den Rest.
Nur so konnte ich trainieren, lernen, erschaffen.
Nur so konnte ich als Künstlerin und Unternehmerin wachsen.

Sie brachten mir das Frühstück an den Schreibtisch. Mittagessen. Abendessen.
Sie hielten alles zusammen, damit ich träumen konnte.

🎨✨ Wie ich meine Kunst ins Herz von Wien gebracht habe (ohne dafür zu zahlen)

Letztes Jahr war ich auf einem kleinen, feinen Street Market in der Wollzeile, fast schon beim Zusammenpacken meiner Produkte, als mich ein Mitglied des wunderbaren Staudigl-Teams ansprach – mit einer Einladung, nächstes Jahr bei der Sprungbrett dabei zu sein. Fast forward: ein paar Monate später war es so weit. Und ja: Ich habe natürlich JA gesagt!

Heute bin ich mit meinen Arbeiten mitten im 1. Bezirk – in einem der schönsten Stores Wiens. Und das für drei Monate, ohne einen Cent dafür zu zahlen. Das war für mich riesig!

Was ich daraus gelernt habe?
1. Zeig deine Persönlichkeit, auch wenn du denkst, dass sie (noch) nicht in die Gesellschaft passt – genau das macht dich besonders. Authentizität ist das, was wirklich berührt. In einer beigen Welt brauchen wir Menschen, die sie bunt malen!
2. Bring dich in Situationen voller Möglichkeiten – egal ob auf einem Markt, einem Netzwerk-Event oder auch einfach in den sozialen Medien. Auch wenn es sich komisch anfühlt: Zeig dich! Deine Arbeit. Deine Energie. Dein Herz.
3. Manchmal zählt nicht, wie viel du auf einem Market verdienst, sondern was danach passiert. Chancen sind oft leise – aber kraftvoll.
